Let me introduce myself...

"From impatient, tired, doubtful and in pain, to more inner peace, more energy, more resilient and more loving".

If I am successful then ...

I am an enthusiastic, driven and enterprising woman who does not shy away from a challenge. With a mentality of going ahead and working hard. These qualities have taken me far; Completed VWO, did gymnastic on national level, completed my degree faster, traveled the world, lived and worked abroad, had a 'good' job at the Zuidas (CBD of Amsterdam).

For a long time I thought this was being successful and making a career would mean happiness, but in reality I felt more and more stressed and unhappier. This manifested itself mainly in vague chronic pains. I was burned-out; I was too tired, unhappy, could no longer think clearly and was in constant pain. Something had to change! So I resigned my job quite abruptly without knowing exactly what's next.

After making that choice in May 2018, I could finally see opportunities again.

Shortly afterwards I registered for the two-year Holistic Lifestyle Coaching course at the Academy for Holistic Coaching. The interest in personal development, mindfulness, nutrition and exercise had been there for a number of years, partly due to the yoga training I followed in Australia in 2014.

The course made me look more critically and lovingly, but above all with more softness at myself and my life. What do I want? What makes me happy?

In addition, I started listening to my body, I had ignored her signals for so long. I started to feed myself better, found a better balance between effort and (re) discovered the power of breath and touch.

By consciously reflecting on it, I have gained more insight into my own (inner) world. In short, I started to look beyond the physical pain; to the emotional pain, which unconsciously was the main cause of my complaints. By becoming aware of suppressed emotions, feeling and processing, the pain became less.

And in the meantime I figured I am pretty good in guiding other as well with their life struggles, to help them restore the connection between body, mind and spirit. For a more balanced, happier and healthier life.

But then in spring 2020 my life turned upside down once again...

What do I want?

Do you allow yourself to enjoy the finer things in life? Do you love yourself? Are you living your own unique life? Do you dare to show and hear yourself?

Questions that I can now answer wholeheartedly with YES.

"Listen to your body, it sends love signals to us, it's up to us whether we pick them up and listen to them"

How I became a doula

I unexpectedly fell pregnant in Spring 2020, around my 30th birthday.. Anyway a remarkable moment, but this made me wonder even more; how do I want to live my life and raise my children?!

At that time I consciously decided not to continue the pregnancy, out of love to my self and my daughter.

Which let me to becoming a doula. I feel this is my path, my mission. I am fascinated with everything around birth, especially the pre- and perinatal psychology. I keep learning, for my own development and to pass this knowledge on.

I love to increase awareness around the first 1000 days and inspire and empower others during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. It's such a life changing event and determines (the start of) someones life and a family.

Words don't do justice witnessing the transformation into parenthood (again), guiding them and see them thrive as a family. It's an honor to be part of that very special journey.
